The small town experienced a very special excitement this Saturday, September 1, for the 8th edition of the La Hailles solidaire run, which brought together more than 500 participants.
This humanitarian race is organized by the association of the same name. As in the past four years, its profits are donated to Rêves, which helps seriously ill children at the Picardie University Hospital.
Elodie Terra, treasurer of the departmental delegation of Rêves, recalls that 20 children's dreams have been fulfilled: participating in a makeover day, going backstage at a major football club or even meeting in a major amusement park. At the end of each edition of the race, a cheque for approximately 4,000 euros is given to the association by the organizers.
From a sporting point of view, it all started with the children's races before the 5 km start. "I am from Revelles, I have been participating in this solidarity race for five years now, we do it as a family. My son Clément participated in one of the young races," says Delphine Foré. For the 10 km, Philippe Barbier, speaker of the event, announces "big names". "Mélanie Doutart was French champion in the 10 km road race in 2017 and Aurélien Dassonville, a very good cross-country runner from Oignyes (59). He should join the UC Amiens club in a few days. "Jérémy Pecqueux, from Hailles, also took the start of the 10 km, supported by the inhabitants.
More than 70 volunteers
The different starts were given with the mascot, the werewolf. About 100 walkers participated in the 5 km hike.
The event mobilized more than 70 volunteers to ensure safety on the courses and the entire organization. An appointment is scheduled for the 2019 edition.
