On this route, we cross the pastures in the heart of Aralar. We start off in Larraitz and climb Larrunarri (Txindoki) the traditional way as far as the area with the cabins on the mountain. At this point there is a crossroads where we turn right towards Alotza; we steadily climb as we pass through the pastures. We very soon reach the highlands and carry on across these pastures, which have been used since time immemorial, until we reach the Alotza drinking fountain. After leaving the fountain behind us it is not easy to follow the path and see the markings so it will be necessary to use a GPS. On misty days, it is easy to wander off the path. We begin to climb the path that takes us up to the Ganbo summit. From the top, we look towards Larrunarri (Txindoki) and take this direction following the route (without signals) indicated by the GPS. Once we reach the Txindoki pass, we begin the descent to Larraitz on the usual path (PR-Gi 2005).
